    round8 were retained by’s senior leadership team (based in San Francisco) to find them an MD, EMEA.

    Following an unsuccessful direct search, the CRO and CEO wanted to see the very best senior commercial talent in market who would be able to execute their aggressive EMEA growth plans.

    Brightroll’s CEO and Global SVP retained round8 to secure them a new Managing Director, Europe.

    Their US-based leadership team was eager to get full visibility on Brightroll’s actual and perceived position in-market in the UK. To this end, round8’s search was nonlinear.

    A series of high profile acquisitions meant Amobee needed a 2IC to the MD to roll out the vision for the business.

    They’re a leading presence in the mobile and AdTech space, so a strong technical knowledge complemented by sales leadership was imperative.

    After an initial consultation and report on the trends and talent shortage in the market, collectively, we came to the conclusion Amobee needed a Head of Technology as well as a Head of Sales to achieve long-term goals as the leaders in the tech space.

    We’re a trusted partner of Bauer, so they asked us to help find a Head of Digital operations for their growing Advertising Operations and Programmatic development team.

    This was a key hire. The head of Digital Operations leads the team responsible for securing seamless sales to safeguarding the invoicing process; delivery of advertising campaigns; and, management of commercial inventory to maximise revenue while ensuring audiences have the best experience of Bauer’s content.

    We were asked to help find the Head of Digital for the recently retained Lloyds Banking Group account.

    The candidate was going to lead the digital output of MEC’s newly created business unit, Greenhouse.

    MEC wanted an elite digital talent that could evangelise digital to the most senior clients while also producing a digital roadmap for Lloyds Banking Group’s future activity. They’d also be responsible for the digital output of the agency, from both a strategic and commercial standpoint.

    Mi9 had just launched, and an essential new role for them was Director of Specialist Sales.

  • SpotX

    We’d worked with SpotX in London and Sydney. When round8 moved into the German market, we asked them about their plans there. This lead us to source and broker a Market Entry Consultancy to help them evaluate the tech and advertising prospects in the DACH region.

    Then, we worked exclusively with them to secure their German launch MD.

Jim is one of the few people in the industry to have extensive, first-hand experience running contingent and retained searches across all media platforms - in addition to each digital media technology as they have emerged (e.g. search, social, ad serving, mobile, video, programmatic, native/branded content formats, data)

He has lead external hiring initiatives for companies including Business Insider, European Broadcast Exchange, Hearst, Refinery 29, MSN, BBC Worldwide, AOL Platforms/Oath, Bauer Media, Fox Networks, Criteo, Brightroll, spotX, Vice. Having built round8 in London and Sydney, and hired for many US clients, he has a strong international network.

Jim has judged at the M&M Global, PPA Digital, and British Media Awards; Advised for digital accelerators and as an NED, and featured on various panels – including Guardian Media, Techpitch 4.5, Elle University. He is a qualified assessor in a range of psychometric testing, a certified Master Practitioner in NLP and a trained executive coach.
